INFO

Growing up on the sounds of Motown, soul, reggae and hip hop, Bristol-based singer/songwriter & rapper SAZZEY describes her sound as “...a mixture of old school garage; some hip hop, R&B and rap”. From a young age SAZZEY whose real name is Sarah Holly, was surrounded by music that was mainly of the Motown or soul flavour. From there, SAZZEY found herself often rhyming and writing down poems and lyrics. Music became a release for her and it was actually the only thing she felt that she excelled at. She credits MTV as a great source of inspiration; in particular it was watching the way all of the different artists performed that really interested her. Her stage name of SAZZEY is all in the family.Since she was born, her nickname has always been SAZZEY.It is SAZZEYS very nature that makes her pretty unique – her style encompasses beany hats, flat caps to hair ties and head bands – she’s always mixing it up. She also writes from personal experience, things that are unique to her. Her musical approach is also unique and not to mention she’s a rare breed – a female that can rap, beat box and sing. She always has a positive disposition and lives by the motto that “there’s no such word as can’t...you put in can’t and take out try”. It is something her grandma said when she was growing up and it just seems to have stuck over the years.

SAZZEY is yet to release an EP, but she hopes to release one in July this year which she is understandably really excited about. Maybe her first ever song she wrote will end up making an appearance. Whilst SAZZEY had always written short little songs, her first full song was a track called Wishing when she was just 14 years old. It was recorded in her local studio and it was the first time she had heard her voice recorded and she was pleasantly surprised with the results. It was the ringtone around school at the time and it achieved heavy rotation on her school radio. The track is currently on SAZZEYS Sound Cloud and the feedback she received on the track gave her the confidence to believe in herself and continue her musical journey.

Now at the age of 25, SAZZEY hasnt felt so strong about her music, she is very positive and excited for people to hear her style, and she appreciates all the support that she gets. Thank You.
